The Core Skills Program

Active Listening

Overview:
Active listening is a structured way to attend to what a speaker intends to convey. An active listener listens for context and meaning. An active listener encourages the speaker by letting him or her know that they understand their story and feelings. They ask questions that uncover more of what is truly present for the speaker. Active listening leads to deeper relationships and understanding.

Active listening skills are at the foundation of all the courses in The Core Skills Program.
